Metabognostics pioneers non-invasive techniques for precision medicine by analysing sweat from the fingertips. Sweat is a surprisingly rich source of metabolic parameters. So far, over 600 endogenous and exogenous metabolites were identified in sweat of the fingertip. Many of them indicate characteristic metabolic processes. The specific metabolic signatures can be used for highly individualized medical diagnostic applications, especially with respect to complex and chronic diseases that are characterized by an imbalance of metabolic or energy homeostasis. Metabognostics is constantly setting up new dedicated mass spectrometry-based pipelines for diagnostic purposes.
